12 Days Of Christmas Cocktails
|
Snow Day 1.5 oz Vanilla Vodka .5 oz Bailey's Irish Cream Pour into glass and enjoy!
The Happy Holidays! 2oz Bourbon Whiskytes
The Sleepless Christmas Eve Bonus Kahlua drink! If you have a chocolate liqueur like the Godiva brand featured in the Overnight at Grandma’s, this drink is irresistible.
1oz Kahlua 1oz Vodka 1oz Godiva Chocolate liqueur Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Enjoy.
Daddy’s Home! V1 1.25oz rye whiskey (I used Jim Beam)
Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with a generous amount of ice. Shake for 10-20 seconds and pour into glass. !.5oz grenadine .5oz freshly squeezed lemon juice 1oz apricot nectar (I used Looza brand) Dash of orange bitters Bonus drink of the day! the original Scofflaw cocktail 1.25 rye whiskey .75oz dry vermouth .5oz freshly squeezed lemon juice .5oz grenadine Dash of orange bitters Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with a generous amount of ice. Shake for 10-20 seconds and pour into glass.
1-2-3 Time Out 1.5-2oz Apricot nectar (I use Looza brand) Mix all ingredients except Prosecco in champagne flute. Carefully add Prosecco.
Bonus Prosecco drink! If you happened to make the grenadine we posted a few days ago, you can make a great drink by simply pouring a shot (1.5oz) of it into a champagne flute and adding Prosecco. Tastes great and super simple. Add a small amount of lemon juice if you want it less sweet.
The Security Blanket
8 raspberries 2oz Dark Rum (I used Brugel Dominican) .5oz Grand Marnier (or a similar liquor like Bol’s Curacao) .25oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice .5oz sugar syrup Muddle raspberries in shaker (I used a wooden spoon — just get them all mushed up). Add remaining ingredients and shake with a generous amount of ice. Pour into glass and enjoy!
The Ferberizer
2 egg yolks .25oz cream
.5oz sugar syrup .75oz tawny port 1.5oz bourbon whiskey 3.5oz milk nutmeg Shake well over ice cubes in a shaker and strain into a glass (or a Santa mug). Sprinkle with nutmeg. Need sugar syrup for this recipe? Super easy to make.
.75oz Amaretto Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Pour into a double old fashioned glass filled with ice.
Cola Add rum to a double old fashioned glass full of ice (really full, not just a couple cubes). Fill with cola. No lime with this one — it doesn’t work as well with this rum.
Mom, Look! 1oz Grand Marnier
1oz Vanilla Stoli 2oz Fresh squeezed orange juice .25oz fresh squeezed lemon juice Stir all ingredients with ice in a large glass. At this point, you’ve got two choices. 1) Want a solidly strong and tasty cocktail? You’re done — pour this into a double old fashioned glass filled with ice (my recommendation). 2) After something a bit lighter? Pour this into a tall glass filled with ice and top off with club soda (Ms. Suburban Bliss’s preference).
Peppermint Overnight at Grandma’s
The 7 O'Clock Bedtime
If you don't typically use freshly squeezed juice in cocktails, try it with this one and see what you think. The fresh flavor and aroma really make a big difference.
(If you like a more subtle vodka cocktail go with 1/4oz of grenadine and lemon juice. If you want a cocktail with more flavor go with 1/2oz of each.) 1/4 to 1/2oz grenadine 1/4 to 1/2oz freshly squeezed lemon juice 2oz vodka Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker (with this drink, I use a lot of ice and shake it for a while -- 10 seconds will do -- so there'll be ice crystals in the drink). This drink also works on the rocks.
